The Part-Time/On Campus Job Fair (usually associated with FreshFest during the first week of the fall semester) is a great way for employers to find students seeking part-time or temporary. Our Fall Career Day is the main career event at the University of New Orleans. It is typically scheduled before our on-campus recruiting season to allow employers an opportunity to meet potential recruits prior to one-on-one interviews. The Mardi Gras Invitational (MGI)Career Fair (usually held during the spring semester two weeks prior Mardi Gras day) is a two day event co-sponsored by Dillard University, Loyola University New Orleans, Our Lady of Holy Cross College, Southern University New Orleans, Tulane University, the University of New Orleans, and Xavier University Louisiana. This event is the LARGEST career day in New Orleans and has been in existence for over 15 years. Each year drawing over 1200 students and alumni, MGI is the best way to meet students and alumni from all New Orleans institutions of higher learning. There is a fee for this event. The New Orleans Citywide Teacher Fair is an excellent opportunity for schools and school districts to meet education majors and others interested in a career in education. The event is held in the spring only and is normally hosted by the University of New Orleans. This event is a consortium event and is sponsored by all of the colleges and universities in the New Orleans area. For additional information, please visit the New Orleans Teacher Fair website.
Lots of companies participate in career fairs every year for the first time. If you are one of those organizations, here is what you can expect:
- All company registrations will include one table (usually 6ft in length), two chairs and access to electricity.
- Limited access to A/V equipment is available for a fee. Please request such equipment early when registering.
- Refreshments will be available to all participating companies including continental breakfast and lunch depending on the time of the event.
- Parking is always limited at UNO during Fall and Spring career events. Please pay special attention to parking directions from the UNO Counseling and Career Center.
